context-11

Since the 1970s Australian houses on average have doubled in size whilst halving the
number of occupants. The resulting size increase has caused significant rises in energy
and material consumption. We must consider smaller, less destructive systems of housing.

princess-wharf-copy2

We must reduce the amount of material we use and recycle where we can. This change
should not mean sacrifices in design quality or aesthetics. Containers look great!
MODV2.0 explores reductions in cost, re-use of materials and smaller more flexible
housing solutions.

myers_5-copy

Fill wasted spaces in our cities. Prefabricate and build houses in days not months.
Consider your impact on the environment. Live closer to the city on smaller parcels of land.
Catch the bus. Cycle to work. Live in a container, forget its previous life on the high sea.
No longer a container for shipping stuff in, a container for living, a container of experience,
a container of fun.
